Visor
Vacuum forming + tint dyeing
The visor buck is a Mk3 by M16 Studios (open source) formed in-house.
Various tinting options are available.
Frame
3D modeling + printing
Frames are modeled off the Mk3, and share geometries where possible. However, since creative liberty has been taken to customize designs, some differences may be present.
3D models only available upon request.
Electronics
Fans, LED matrices, processors, speakers, and HUD
The selected board allows for extensive IO in a smaller footprint compared to other alternatives.
LED matrices are 64x32 pixels, allowing for a range of detailed facial expressions at high refresh rates.
Cheek panels use RGB axial fans with a LED ring lights. Ear fans are also present for effective cross ventilation
HUD and internal speakers only available upon request (experimental).
Safety information
To prevent overheating and damage to the electronics of Protogen heads, the unit should not be powered whilst unattended. If any overheating does occur, the unit should be powered off immediately and please contact us.
Only use reliable powerbanks which meet the 5V±0.25 5A±2 power requirements of the unit. Powerbanks should not be placed directly against the body or in/on the helmet, and should not be used if overheating occurs. Protoge.nz does not supply powerbanks due to shipping restrictions. For advice on powering your Protogen, contact us.
Whilst care has been made designing a durable product, the Protogen head should not be used in any protective capacity such as for airsoft, biological, or industrial applications.
